William Hill opens a technology centre in Shoreditch, London
UK bookmaker William Hill has announced the opening of a new technological ‘centre of excellence’ in the UK as part of a move to further improve its mobile offering to customers.
According to the Freshbusinessthinking.com website, the new 6,000sq ft facility is based in the Shoreditch area of London, the site of the UK's ‘Silicon Roundabout’ web-based business and company hub.
William Hill will become the first gaming company to open an office at the site.
The bookmaker said that the new centre would focus on innovation and developing its growing portfolio of mobile products.
It will initially house 40 staff and complement the bookmaker’s international online operations at sites around the world.
“We plan to tap into Shoreditch’s eco-system of development talent; we are a very strong and successful brand and we have done this by evolving throughout our history,” William Hill’s online managing director, Andrew Lee, said.
“Our goal is to provide a unique and exciting experience for our customers through digital innovation and differentiation; being in Shoreditch, at the heart of Europe’s technical expertise, will help us achieve that.”
