William Hill US’ sportsbetting kiosks banned from restricted license establishments in Nevada

william hill nevadaWilliam Hill US, a subsidiary of UK bookmaker William Hill, is to remove its sportsbetting kiosks from half of the 84 bars, taverns and restaurants it operates in throughout the state of Nevada.

Patrons will no longer be able to open an account, fund it or withdraw money or place bets without visiting a traditional casino-based sportsbook.

William Hill has confirmed that customers will still be able to fund their mobile sportsbetting accounts and receive updated lines on games.

“We are repositioning them from kiosks to mobile sports deposit hotspots,” said Dan Shapiro, Business Development Director for William Hill US.

'You can’t make a bet or withdraw money but it will accept cash deposits.”

The move comes after the announcement of Senate Bill 416, a new law that bans sportsbetting kiosks in establishments holding a restricted license. Such licenses in Nevada allow a business to only operate a maximum of 15 slot machines.
