vBulletin get the first online sportsbetting licence in Bulgaria

The Bulgarian State Gambling Commission has opted to issue the country’s first online sportsbetting licence to local operator vBulletin.

According to the Casino Choice news website, vBulletin already holds two of three national licences for offline sports betting in Bulgaria, and currently operates the Eurobet.bg and Eurofootball.bg websites off a Malta licence.

It will now pay a reported €20,000 ($27,000) for the new Bulgarian online licence.

Eurofootball.bg has been prominent in the market since 2009, when it agreed a three-year deal with the Bulgarian Football Union to sponsor the country’s men’s, women’s and youth national football teams. It was also a sponsor of the Bulgarian Professional Football League for the 2009-10 season.

The commission’s recently-appointed director Ogenmir Mitev also confirmed that a further 20 online betting companies will be added to the country’s blacklist, barring them from operating in the country.

The Internet domains that will be added to the blacklist are: Interwetten.com, Samvo.com, Stoiximan.com, Cirsa.es, Centrebet.com, Pokerheaven.es, Intertops.eu, Playmillion2.com, Thegreek.com, Wettpunkt.com, Igame.com, Betatcasino.com, Redflushcasino.eu, Roxypalace.com, Tropeziapalace.com, Emucasino.com, 1king.com, Onlinecasino.ac, Allaustraliancasino.com and Allbritishcasino.com.

There are now 133 names on the blacklist.
