Ultimate Gaming received certification from GLI
American online poker and bingo operator Ultimate Gaming has announced that its intra-state interactive gaming system for Nevada has been certified by testing firm Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) LLC.
A subsidiary of Fertitta Interactive LLC, which is itself majority-owned by land-based casino and restaurant operator Station Casinos LLC, Ultimate Gaming is the firm behind the new UltimatePoker.com domain and revealed that the certification means that it was able to become the first interactive gaming services provider to go live in the western American state.
Ultimate Gaming stated that its interactive gaming services were tested by GLI at laboratories in Las Vegas and Colorado before being subsequently approved for field trials by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
“We are thrilled to make history as the first company in the United States to offer legal and secure online poker,” said Tobin Prior, Chief Executive Officer for Ultimate Gaming.
“The regulatory requirements for online poker have been set at a new level by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and GLI conducted a most professional and rigorous testing and certification of our product. The result is that poker fans can now play the game they love at UltimatePoker.com in a legitimate and secure environment.”
For its part, GLI has 21 laboratory locations across Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas and received its certification as a registered independent testing laboratory from the Nevada Gaming Control Board in June. Since then, it has received more than 4,169 submissions for the testing of intra-state interactive gaming systems for Nevada ‘including every major interactive poker platform’.
“We have worked closely with the Nevada Gaming Control Board in supporting its important objectives including ensuring interactive products comply with strict regulations,” said Ian Hughes, Engineering and Client Services Senior Director for GLI.
“The task is a big responsibility and one that we are used to given our work for 455 jurisdictions globally. We are very pleased that the Nevada Gaming Control Board has entrusted such testing to GLI and we are thrilled to have completed this certification.”
