Thomas Winter appointed at Landry’s

Thomas Winter has been appointed to lead the online operations of Landry’s, which owns the Golden Nugget casino chain.

Winter, who served as director and chief executive officer of BetClic Everest Group for 18 months until December 2011, will steer the online division as it prepares for a full launch in the US states of New Jersey and Nevada in the coming months.

The 39-year-old will serve as vice-president of online gaming at Landry’s.

As part of its online strategy, Landry’s Golden Nugget has linked up with Bally Technologies to provide internet gaming products and support. Last year, Bally acquired the online gaming business of Chiligaming, which has offices in the UK, France and Malta.

“They had the experience with gaming in Europe and we didn’t want to do business with someone who will compete against us here,” Steve Scheinthal, the company’s executive vice-president and general counsel, told Bloomberg.
