Mario Galea, the new iGaming consultant in New Jersey

After ratifying legislation last year that will authorise its land-based casinos to offer online gambling services, New Jersey has now hired Mario Galea to assist it with implementing any proposed regulations governing these activities.

The American state announced earlier this week that it plans to publish its intended iGaming rules on June 3 with Galea, a former Chief Executive Officer for Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority regulator, due to begin work immediately.

Currently serving as President of Random Consulting in Malta, Galea has extensive background in online gambling with David Rebuck, Director for the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, revealing at the East Coast Gaming Congress and Hospitality Forum in Atlantic City on Wednesday that the eastern state hopes to go live with its online licensing system by the end of the year.
