The Weather Lottery becomes Boxhill
British fundraising firm The Weather Lottery has been renamed Boxhill Technologies following the acquisitions of payments software and processing business Poseve and Sormelle.
Under the new name, Boxhill plans to deliver and acquire new products and business with a focus on lotteries and global payment processing.
Boxhill offers a range of payment solution products via its Pay Corporation brand, including consumer-facing services such as the prepaid PayCorp Visa card.
The firm also said that its gaming payments and software division has generated increased revenues through the provision of online payments systems for companies such as UK bookmaker Ladbrokes. Boxhill has also reported an increase in business from other gaming and non-gaming merchants.
Lord Tim Razzall, the Liberal Democrats political party’s spokesman on trade and industry, will serve as non-executive chairman of the Boxhill board.
In addition, Phil Jackson will retain his chief executive officer role on the board, while Andrew Flitcroft and Kevin Dale will serve as financial director and chief operating officer respectively.
