New leadership team unveiled for Scientific Games and WMS’s combined company
Ahead of its pending merger with slot machine provider WMS Industries, US gaming and lottery technology firm Scientific Games has announced the planned organisational structure and leadership of the new combined company.
Senior corporate executives at Scientific Games will remain in their current roles, including A. Lorne Weil, who will retain the role of chairman and chief executive officer of the new combined company. The firm will be split into two industry groups – gaming and lottery.
The gaming group will be headed up by William Huntley, who will serve as executive vice-president and group chief executive officer. It will be composed of the core WMS business, Scientific Games’ server-based gaming business, gaming-related systems businesses of both companies and Williams Interactive.
The group’s senior management team will comprise staff from both Scientific Games and WMS, including Ken Lochiatto, president and chief operating officer at WMS, and Jordan Levin, managing director of Williams Interactive.
Meanwhile, James Kennedy will lead both of Scientific Games’ lottery businesses – printed products and lottery systems. He will assume the role of executive vice-president, group chief executive of lottery.
Weil said the leadership team announcement is an “exciting step forward” in the evolution of Scientific Games into a global gaming firm.
He added: “I am excited about the experienced leadership team we have chosen to take Scientific Games to the next level of success.
“We are uniting two highly complementary businesses and creating a collaborative team focused on delivering new solutions, truly innovative content, world-class technology and industry-leading services to customers around the globe.”
In January this year, Scientific Games agreed to acquire WMS for $26.00 per common share, or approximately $1.5b (€1.1bn) in the aggregate.
