Jersey Key Personnel Licences for Basel

Basel eBusiness Solutions directors are the first to be awarded the new Gambling Key Personnel licences by the Jersey Gambling Commission.

The new regulation requires directors that provide corporate trust services to gaming operators on the island to hold permits.

Basel will now be able to offer corporate services to Jersey-based e-gaming businesses.

A gambling body that operates e-gaming services from Jersey requires a Remote Operator’s Licence. Basel can now assist operators with the requisite application, as well as help establish e-gaming operations, and manage and administer operations on a local scale.

The Jersey Gambling Comission will maintain contact with new licence holders during the year, visit premises, review documentation and report as necessary.

Jason Lane, chief executive officer at the Jersey Gambling Commission, said: “We have introduced Personal Gambling Licences to ensure that gambling is regulated in accordance with accepted international standards and that directors and principals employed by trust company businesses are fit and proper to provide services to commercial gambling licensees.

“The directors at Basel have satisfied the Commission of their integrity, competence and financial standing and are fit and proper to hold a Personal Licence and I hope that it helps the company attract new business and establish Jersey as a jurisdiction to base e-gaming operations from.”
