Inspired Gaming signs a partnership agreement with Gamenet
British server-based gaming specialist Inspired Gaming Group Limited has signed an agreement to provide its virtual sports offering to online and land-based Italian operator Gamenet SpA.
The deal follows the recent passage of legislation in Italy legalising fixed-odds bets on virtual sporting events online and in betting shops with Inspired Gaming stating that it has entered into the approval process with the nation’s Amministrazione Autonoma Monopoli di Stato (AAMS) regulator and hopes to begin offering products as early as next month.
“This is a very special moment for the new virtual sports market in Italy and for Inspired Gaming,” said Steve Rogers, Virtual Sports Managing Director for Burton on Trent-based Inspired Gaming.
“Our years of experience worldwide have demonstrated that our virtual sports products generate incremental revenues for sportsbetting operators across all channels. We supply our virtual sports to many of the world’s most successful gaming companies and we’re delighted to announce Gamenet as a new customer.”
For its part, Gamenet is one of the leading operators of video lottery terminals in Italy and is due to join other firms such as SNAI, Sisal, Eurobet, Intralot, Cogetech and Lottomatica in offering virtual sports products from Inspired Gaming.
“With this agreement, Gamenet is ready to widen its games portfolio,” said Claudio Sforza, Managing Director for Gamenet.
“Customers using our own online platform are now able to bet on Inspired Gaming’s virtual events such as football, horseracing, horse trotting, greyhound racing, speedway, motor racing, tennis and cycling. The betting offer is also available in-venue in more than 100 shops and corners all over Italy.”
