IG and Harlequins signed a sponsorship deal
Financial spreadbetting provider IG has agreed a sponsorship deal with London-based English Premiership rugby union club Harlequins.
The deal will run for three seasons, from 2013-14 to 2015-16.
The IG logo will appear on the sleeve of the Harlequins playing shirt as well as across items of the match day and non-match day training kit. IG will also benefit from stadium branding, match day activation and player appearances and will also be the principal sponsor of Harlequins’ festive fixture, ‘The Big Game’, at national stadium Twickenham in December.
“We understand the drive and ambition that has kept this renowned rugby club competing at the top end of the sport for so long,” IG chief executive officer Tim Howkins said.
“That’s why we’re proud to sponsor Harlequins, with their remarkable history as one of the oldest and foremost rugby clubs in the country.
“This partnership is an exciting opportunity for us, because we see in Harlequins many of the qualities and values that drive IG as a company, including leadership, innovation and performance at the highest level.”
Harlequins commercial director James Kendall added: “We are delighted to welcome IG to the Harlequins family, which already boasts major companies like DHL, LV= and the club’s main sponsor Etihad Airways.
“We have been thoroughly impressed with IG’s desire to be involved in rugby and to work with us in particular. We have already identified numerous beneficial opportunities to explore together and we are very much looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”
