Beacon Bingo and Cashino sponsor GB Taekwondo
Beacon Bingo and its sister company, Cashino, have agreed a deal to sponsor the GB Taekwondo team and its various athletes.
Under the agreement, both firms will also jointly sponsor the inaugural World Taekwondo Grand Prix in Manchester, which takes place in Manchester later this year.
Nick Hardin, chief executive officer of parent company, gaming organisation Praesepe, said he was keen to build an affiliation with taekwondo after Great Britain’s success in the sport during the Olympic Games last summer. British athlete Jade Jones won the country’s first ever gold medal in the sport during the London Games.
“The sponsorship will work on a number of levels, engaging with our 1,200 staff and the 500,000 customers who each year frequent our 170 venues and bingo clubs throughout Britain,” Harding said.
Steve Flynn, GB Taekwondo’s operations director, added: “The partnership will enable us to promote the sport to a wider audience whilst enabling us to engage with Cashino and Beacon staff and customers alike, giving them direct access to a unique and dynamic Olympic sport.”
