Caesars Interactive Entertainment will lunch WSOP.com in Nevada

caesars interactiveOnline gaming operator Caesars Interactive Entertainment has confirmed it will launch real-money online poker platform WSOP.com in the US state of Nevada on Thursday morning.

The platform will be only the second fully-licensed online poker platform in the US.

The company’s partner, online gambling giant 888 Holdings, will provide the software and gaming platform.

Caesars will activate the launch by promoting the WSOP Online Championships, which will run across nine events before an ‘Online Nine’ final in November in conjunction with the WSOP main event.

“This is a historic moment for our company,” Caesars chief executive officer Mitch Garber said. “A state-of-the-art poker offering from one of the most established and regulated operators in the United States is finally here.

“We have taken the 43-year-old World Series of Poker brand and combined it with the Caesars Entertainment portfolio of assets to provide consumers with what we believe will be an unrivalled poker offering to satisfy today’s technologically savvy consumer. We will bridge land-based and online gaming in ways that have never been seen before.

“I also think this is really the beginning of a domino effect,” he added, according to the Bluff poker news website. “We believe that the digital age is going to repeat that pattern [of live gaming] and Nevada is going to lead. This momentum we believe is real and Nevada is at the very cutting edge.”
