Betting: New live channel for Sportradar
Swiss sports and betting-related data services supplier Sportradar AG has extended its product portfolio following the introduction of a new live channel for retail outlets.
St Gallen-based Sportradar stated that its latest innovation combines live statistics with real-time odds and coverage of sporting events from around the world onto a single screen and follows the ‘great success’ enjoyed by its live odds and scouting services on which more than 150 bookmaking clients already rely.
Sportradar declared that the streaming of live sports ‘is essential for retail betting’ as television channels ‘can only serve with a limited amount of live content’. It said that its new live channel will change this state of affairs and bring ‘an unprecedented level of live entertainment to betting shops’.
“With our live channel, we are able to provide our clients a truly revenue-driving product,” said Erik Lorenz, Sales Managing Director for Sportradar.
“Being able to offer live pictures from around the globe around-the-clock is the perfect completion of our popular live betting services.”
Sportradar holds the media rights for eleven international sports across five continents including high-profile soccer, tennis, basketball, handball and ice hockey action and stated that it is ‘constantly expanding’ its live portfolio in order to serve as the ‘perfect complementary to pay-television channels’ while additionally providing ‘exclusive live content’ to betting shops.
“Our live channel is designed with a conscious focus on sports during off-peak hours,” read a statement from Sportradar.
“Thereby, shop owners can enhance their daily live sports coverage extensively through a unique entertaining solution offering the chance to increase customer loyalty and to drive revenues.”
Sportradar revealed that live on-screen statistics will always relate to the action being displayed in order to stimulate punters ‘to place even more bets in combination with the automatically updated live odds on a single screen’.
“And best of all, the browser-based high-quality streaming signal can be transmitted around the globe without delay and there is no need for additional hardware,” said Joern Anhalt, Media Rights Managing Director for Sportradar.
“Through the increase of daily live sports content, we are convinced the live channel will significantly increase the turnover potential of retail operators.”
