BetTech Gaming and Kruger Racing struck a deal

Technology solutions provider BetTech Gaming has struck a deal to supply its BetTech Sports product to, the South African sports betting website operated by Kruger Racing.

The revamp of the website will include improved functionality and an enhanced mobile betting experience for customers, according to BetTech.

In addition, BetTech has also extended the range of sports and markets on offer – including full pools and fixed-odds wagering on all South African and European race fixtures, and further opportunities for in-play betting.

'BetTech’s product allows to offer fantastic prices on all major horse and sporting events around the world, not to mention the vast array of in-running bets available on various sporting fixtures,' Kruger Racing general manager Craig Swan said.

'Service to our customers is of paramount importance and we strive to allow them to make transactions using our online site, seamlessly and effortlessly through a combination of our helpful staff as well as BetTech’s user-friendly web and mobile platform.'

Kruger Racing opted to launch as a way of satisfying demand for online and mobile sports betting in South Africa. This interest is only set to rise, with government figures predicting an increase in overall domestic betting turnover from R17.7 billion ($1.23 billion/€944.3 million) in 2012 to R24.2 billion in 2016.

Anli Kotzé, BetTech’s general manager, added: 'We are witnessing firsthand how the online sports betting market is booming in South Africa. The growth has fuelled player expectations and is now in a better position to satisfy the demand, and complement its offline offering, particularly when it comes to mobile and in-play.'
