Akamon to become IGSA member

Game developer and operator Akamon Entertainment has confirmed it is to join the International Social Games Association (IGSA) industry body that represents the global social gaming sector.

Akamon will now join existing IGSA members RocketPlay, Plumbee, Playtika, Zynga, Slingo, Abzorba Games, MGM, IGT, Gamesys, Bally Technologies and Aristocrat.

The company offers a portfolio of 38 multiplayer social games to a community of over 15 million registered players.

Having experienced significant recent growth in the Latin American market, it is now aiming to expand its operations in other territories around the world through its involvement with the ISGA.

“As we grow into a business providing entertainment to millions of people around the world, we look forward to joining the ISGA’s efforts to educate regulators, policy makers and players about the value of social games,” Akamon’s chief executive officer, Vicenc Marti, said.

Luc Delany, chief executive officer of the ISGA, added: “Akamon’s products are enjoyed by millions of people around the world, and we look forward to working with them to help show the positive impact social games developers have on players and the digital economy.”
