152 cash game players for WSOP on its first Sunday of operation
WSOP.com, the new US online poker platform of Caesars Interactive Entertainment, recorded a peak of 152 cash game players on its first Sunday of operation this weekend.
In comparison, fellow Nevada operator Ultimate Poker, which launched in April of this year, hit a high of 268 cash players on Sunday.
WSOP.com is currently offering forms of hold-em, Omaha and stud, in addition to tournaments and sit-and-gos. Further games are expected in due course.
Players and industry observers are waiting to see if Nevada enters into agreements with other regulated states, in order to share player liquidities. Delaware is currently the only other US state to have legal online gambling alongside Nevada and New Jersey.
California recently shelved plans for the legalisation and regulation of online poker until next year.
